About Aarambh Society

Aarambh is the Social Responsibility Club at NIFTEM, dedicated to providing free education to underprivileged children. This student-run initiative focuses on creating a positive impact through various educational activities and community service projects. Aarambh aims to bridge the educational gap by offering evening classes, organizing workshops, and conducting awareness drives. The club’s motto, “Good beginnings never end” reflects its commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Through Aarambh, NIFTEM students actively contribute to social change, empowering the next generation with knowledge and opportunities.

Director

Dr. Harinder Singh Oberoi, NIFTEM-K

Doctorate in Microbiology from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, India and Post-Doc in Bioprocessing and Value Addition from Kansas State University, Kansas, USA with diverse exposure to different aspects of Post Harvest Technology. Over 28 years of experience of working with Food and Beverage Industry including big conglomerates, Govt R&D and Academia in Post Harvest Management, Value Addition, Food Processing, Food Safety, Fermentation and Biovalorization.

Flair for designing academic programmes, guiding students, teaching and conducting basic and applied research in diverse facets of Post Harvest Technology with an objective to ensure that the work has a good scientific base and gets translated to something productive and beneficial for the end users. Passionate about publishing in reputed National and International journals so that the scientific knowledge spreads far and wide and some of the results translate to technologies ultimately helping the end users or stakeholders.

Dr. Shumaila Jan

Dr. Shumaila Jan

Dr. Shumaila Jan is a Contractual Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship & Management (NIFTEM), a position she has held since January 2019. She holds a Ph.D. in Food Powder Engineering from Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering & Technology (2013-2018) and an M.Tech in Food Product Development from Jamia Hamdard (2011-2013). Prior to her role at NIFTEM, Dr. Jan was a Teaching Faculty member at Shaheed Rajguru College of Applied Sciences, Delhi University, from July to December 2018. Her expertise lies in food engineering and product development.

Dr. Sunil Pareek

Dr. Sunil Pareek

Dr. Sunil Pareek is a Professor at the National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship & Management (NIFTEM), Kundli, where he has been a faculty member since 2015. He completed his Ph.D. in Horticulture with a focus on Postharvest Technology from Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner, in 2007. Additionally, he earned his M.Sc. in Horticulture from the same university in 2001. With extensive expertise in horticultural science and postharvest technology, Dr. Pareek contributes significantly to research and education in these fields, driving advancements in food technology and horticultural practices.
